200 gelatin sticks, 100 detonators seized from wayside

A huge quantity of 200 gelatin sticks and 100 detonators were recovered from the roadside at Thiruvadanai village in Ramanathapuram district today, police said.
Enquiries led to the arrest of two persons who had dumped the material there, Q branch inspector Kennedy said, adding investigation was on to ascertain why they had kept it there and for what purpose.
He said police suspected that they might have been used to trigger undersea blasts to kill fish and then net them.
