200 tourists from Karna rescued

About 200 of 640-odd tourists from Karnataka, stranded due to devastating floods in Jammu and Kashmir, have been rescued, the state government said today.
Out these 200, a few of them have already reached Bangalore, the state Revenue Department said.
Government has also asked the people to provide information on those who have not been traced.
Two officers deputed by the state, Ramandeep and Mohan Kumar, have already reached Srinagar and are monitoring the rescue operations, the department said in a release.
The release said the officials have been able to facilitate safe transportation of about 70 tourists from Srinagar to New Delhi.
About 200-300 people from Karnataka are at Raj Bhavan helipad and are waiting for their turn to be transported to the Srinagar airport and officials are working for their safe return, the release added.
