20th All India Lawyers Cricket Tournament to start tomorrow

Lawyers from across the country would converge at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh for a national cricket tournament organised by the Lawyers Association for Cricket and Sports, starting tomorrow.
Lawyers from the High Courts of Allahabad, Andhra Pradesh Telangana, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab and Haryana, Chennai and the apex court will play each other in the five- day long 20th edition of the All India Lawyers Cricket Tournament 2017.
"Matches will be played at two venues, namely the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium, which is an ICC-recognised ground and the Jaypee International Cricket Stadium near the Formula One track," advocate Aditya Kumar Choudhary, chairman of the organising committee of the cricket tournament, said.
The inaugural function of the tournament will be inaugurated by Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B Lokur tomorrow.
Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad is likely to grace the function, besides Delhi High Court judge Justice S Muralidhar.
Former left-arm spinner Maninder Singh will be a special guest at this event.
"The league matches will be played from September 27-29, while the semi-finals will be played on September 30 at the Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium. The day-night final will be held on October 1," a release said.
Supreme Court judge Justice A K Sikri will be the chief guest of the final match which will also be attended by former cricketer Vivek Razdan as a guest of honour.
