Addressing a meeting on suicides by debt-ridden farmers at the collectorate hall here, Rao said that out of 21 farmers, financial assistance has been provided to 13 families of farmers who ended their lives due to financial problems.
The remaining eight similar cases would also be considered soon after reports from officials are received, he said.
Rao said that he has instructed officials to identify farmers in financial distress, adding that 41 mandals out of 57 mandals in Karimnagar district recorded minimum rainfall.
