21-year-old woman jumps off 3rd floor of mall, dies

A woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the third floor of a mall in west Delhi's Rajouri Garden area, leaving behind a purported suicide note in which she has expressed disillusionment with herself and her parents, police said today.
Shubhangi (21) jumped off the third floor of City Square Mall around 4 PM yesterday, police said.
She was accompanied by a male friend to the mall, they added.
Couple of hours after she took the extreme step, a CCTV footage showed her throwing a piece of paper in a dustbin on the ground floor of the mall, police said, adding the paper note was scanned to ascertain the cause of her death.

DCP (West) Vijay Kumar confirmed that a suicide note was found in the bin.
In the two-page suicide note that she had thrown in the bin, she has said she made many mistakes in her life and was responsible for them.

In the note addressed to her parents, she also wrote that they should have forgiven her for those mistakes but they didn't fulfill their responsibility towards her, police said.
They were upset with her for not focusing on her studies and making too many friends, they added.
The male friend accompanying her told police that they were outside the mall since 1 PM and around 3.45 PM the girl went inside the mall. Later, when he went to check on her after she didn't return, he found she had committed suicide.

He also told police that she looked upset.
Shubhangi and her friend were also going through a bad phase and their relationship was on the verge of break up, they added.
Shubhangi used to stay with her family at Tilak Nagar's Harijan Basti and was pursuing graduation through distance education mode.
