: A 21-year-old male Royal Bengal Tiger has died at the Nehru Zoological Park here of "old age complications", Zoo officials said here on Tuesday.
The tiger, Vinay, born at the zoo on January 29, 1998, died on August 5 at 10:45 PM, a release said.
The animal, which was under intensive care, was suffering from old age complications and lameness since May 2018 and was kept in the off-display facility for the past five years, it said.
The veterinary team which treated the tiger concluded that it died of old age complications.
The postmortem report termed the cause of death as 'Senility induced Asphexia' and all samples were collected for detailed investigation, it added.
