22 BDCs abducted in UP, rescued

Twenty-two block development committee members who were allegedly abducted ahead of block chief election, have been rescued in Vindhyachal, police said here today.
"22 BDC (block development committee) members, who were abducted and kept in the basement of a hotel, were rescued by police yesterday," Superintendent of Police Arvind Sen said.
He said that an FIR has been lodged against five persons.
A former block chief, who is currently a block development committee member, is an accused in this case.
