He said the state government has sent a proposal to the Centre for conducting Board examinations for classes V and VIII in Haryana, according to an official statement released here.
22 states including Haryana have have proposed to the Centre on removing the 'no-detention policy' in schools, according to the statement.
Sharma was speaking at the meeting of the Sub-Committee of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) which had met to discuss issues related to re-engaging out of school children.
Sharma said that such meetings should be conducted at those places where the drop-out rate is high and the poverty is the main reason for dropping-out, according to the statement.
Other members of the Sub-Committee, who belonged to different states, also offered their suggestions.
In the meeting, Sharma also said that a clean and favourable environment should be provided in schools and education oficers should adopt a village each. He suggested that 'Model Sanskriti Vidyalaya' and 'Aarohi Schools' should be established, the statement said.
