"23 more militants were killed in the on going operation in North Waziristan tribal region near Afghan border," military said today.
The operation was launched following a deadly attack on Karachi international airport which killed 37 people, including the 10 attackers.
Military spokesman Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said that 15 terrorists were killed in Zartatangi mountain heights, East of Miranshah by Army gunship cobra helicopters.
"In a separate sniper action, eight Uzbeks (militants) were killed around Miranshah while planting IEDs on the road Miranshah-Mirali," he said.

He said cordoned off in areas housing terrorists in North Wazirstan continues and efforts by militants to flee from area have been foiled.
The evacuation of civil population from Miranshah and Ghulam Khan has started.
Government has set up check points at various places where IDPs are being provided all administrative support including food items and medicine by security forces.
According to reports, the army wants to wrap the operation before start of holy month of Ramadan.
