24 hurt as bus falls into ditch

As many as 24 people were injured, five of them seriously, when a bus in which they were travelling fell into a roadside ditch on Amritsar-Pathankot highway here today.
The private bus was heading towards Gurdaspur from Batala when the accident happened near Stkoha village, police said.
The bus skidded off the road and fell into the ditch when its driver was trying to save three motorcyclists, they said.
The injured were admitted to a hospital where five of them were stated to be in critical condition, police said.
