24 pilgrims trapped in two cable cars, rescue ops on

About 24 pilgrims were trapped in two cable cars which stopped mid way to a hilltop temple today, some 100-feet-high from the ground, official sources said.
The cable cars, meant to transport pilgrim from the hill base to Sri Dhanayuthapaniswamy temple here, developed a technical snag leading to the incident, they said.
Rescue efforts are in progress. So far eight pilgrims have been rescued with the help of a rope ladder, they said.
