The entire staff of 24 policemen were shifted to police lines after a man Kishore Jogi (60), who had registered a complaint against five locals recently after his tractor was stolen, was found dead in the police station yesterday morning, official sources said.
On Tuesday, both Jogi and the accused were called at the police station for a settlement but Jogi refused to settle the matter and wanted legal action against the accused.
Jogi's family alleged that he was murdered and demanded FIR against the policemen.
However, the policemen claimed that it was a case of suicide, they said, adding the cause of the death would be clear only after postmortem.
