24 Post Bank branches to be set up in AP by March 2018: CPMG

K Balasubramanian, Chief Post Master General, AP Circle has announced that 24 Post Bank branches would be set up in Andhra Pradesh by the end of March 2018.
Three of them would be established in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Chittoor very soon, he told reporters today.
The Postal Bank would provide all banking services to the public like acceptance of savings and fixed deposits except lending, said the official.
He said that the postal department extended its 'Postal Life Insurance' service to professionals from October 2017 which was previously limited for government employees.
He claimed that the policies of postal life insurance are more attractive than other life insurances policies.

He said that government has allowed the postal department to provide Aadhar related services like enrolling, change of address among others.
He said 585 post offices have been identified to provide Aadhar related services in Andhra Pradesh.
