The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today seized 240 kilograms of contraband ganja from inside a truck near Khurda district in Odisha, a senior officer of the agency said here.
Nobody was arrested in this connection.
Sleuths of the NCB's eastern region sub-zonal unit seized the drug, three mobile phones and some cash in Indian and Nepali currencies from two vehicles at Paniora village, the officer said.
"The ganja was brought in a vehicle and was being shifted in a coal laden truck when our officers intercepted. The men doing it fled immediately leaving behind three mobiles and other documents," he said.
The documents include driving license, Aadhaar card, voter card, papers of bank and vehicles, he added.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that the source of the drug is Odisha's Malkangiri and it was heading towards Patna. It appears that the final destination of the consignment was Gopalganj in Bihar," he stated.
