2447 police personnel appointed in Nagaland in 4 yrs

A total of 2447 police personnel were appointed in various posts in the past four years in Nagaland, the state Assembly was informed today.
Besides, 313 people were recruited against posts created for Eastern districts of Nagaland in 2015 through open advertisement for the people of the area, state Home Minister Y Patton said.
He was replying to a query by Mmhonlumo Kikon on the appointments made in Home Department since 2013.
Patton said that 2177 posts were filled up directly without advertisement from 2013 to 2017.
The Home Minister said that the appointments were necessitated because of non-creation of posts of personnel after the creation of new districts like Kiphire, Longleng and Peren.

Besides, he said, there were only 168 traffic police personnel now against the requirement of 486.
