250 polling stations sensitive in Kandhamal LS constituency

Maoist influence and political rivalry, among others were taken into account while slotting the critical booths

Ahead of the October 15 bye-election to Kandhamal Lok Sabha seat in Odisha, as many as 250 of the 637 polling stations in Kandhamal district have been identified as highly sensitive.

The Kandhamal L S constituency is spread over Boudh, Ganjam and Nayagarh districts.

"Micro observers will be deployed in 60 of these 250 booths and CCTV cameras will be installed in all booths," said Kandhamal district Returning Officer M Thirumala Naik.

Maoist influence and political rivalry, among others were taken into account while slotting the critical booths.

"Employees of central government and central public sector undertakings such as commercial banks and postal department would be engaged as micro observers," Naik said.
