260 kg poppy husk seized, one arrested

Police today seized 260 kg poppy husk from a vehicle and arrested one person, who was also wanted by the narcotics department.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a truck near village Matora and seized the consignment, Harendra Kumar, SP (Rural) said.
"We raised barricades on the route near the village and spotted a vehicle bearing the given registration number", said Kumar.
On checking, some sacks containing poppy husk were found in the vehicle.
On inquiry, the driver identified as Bhajnaram Bishnoi could not give satisfactory reply.
"We have arrested Bishnoi and have registered a case under NDPS act against him," Kumar said.

Bishnoi was also wanted by the narcotics department for illegal dealing in opium and poppy husk since long.
Police also found some fake registration number plates in the vehicle meant to be used in other states.
