Army Chief General Raheel Sharif was briefed during his visit to front-line troops in Khyber Agency that 263 terrorists were killed in Tirah valley in the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb, army spokesperson Major General Asim Bajwa said in a series to tweets.
Gen Raheel reviewed phenomenal progress so far made in eliminating terrorists, Bajwa said, adding that terrorist strongholds in the region have been reduced and no escapes have been allowed in this operation.
Gen Raheel was also informed that 392 IEDs have been neutralised by special engineers, whereas 35 soldiers were killed since the start of Operation Khyber-2.
He directed troops to continue with the same momentum until terrorism is completely eliminated and ultimate peace is achieved, saying the nation values sacrifices made and stands united with the troops.

Gen Raheel said that he appreciates full support from tribal brethren to eliminate terrorists from their areas, adding that terrorists will not be allowed to ever return.
More than 1,500 militants have been killed during the operation launched after a brazen assault on Karachi airport that killed at least 36 people, including the attackers.
