27 lakh MT paddy arrives in Haryana mandis

More than 27.37 lakh Metric Tonnes of paddy have reached to the mandis of Haryana so far as against 20.56 lakh MT crop arrived in market during the same period a year ago.
A spokesman of the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department today said that out of total arrived paddy, 27.27 lakh MT is leviable.
The government procurement agencies have procured more than 27.07 lakh MT and 29,987 MT was procured by millers and dealers, he said here.
He said that more than 7.72 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Kurukshetra, 6.39 lakh MT in Karnal, 4.43 lakh MT in Kaithal and 4.03 lakh MT in Ambala.
About 1.92 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, 1.19 lakh MT Fatehabad, 63,769 MT Panchkula, 54,067 MT in Jind, 38,044 MT in Sirsa, 6,899 MT in Palwal and 3,401 MT has reached Hisar.
Besides, 2,470 MT paddy reached Sonipat, 230 MT Faridabad, 133 MT Rohtak and 15 MT Jhajjar.

The spokesman said that more than 12.42 lakh MT of paddy have purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
Over 9.09 lakh MT by Hafed, 3.22 lakh MT by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation, 2.27 lakh MT have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 5,665 MT have been purchased by the Food Corporation of India, the official added.
He said that 14,334 MT of bajra has arrived in the mandis, as compared to 6,573 MT during the corresponding period last year, he added.
While traders have purchased 11,638 MT of bajra, government agencies have so far procured 2,696 MT.
