The Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has registered 281 cases of graft, misappropriation of funds and disproportionate assets against the government officials, including four IAS officers, since October 2014.
Apart from the four IAS officials, the cases were also registered against the Haryana Civil Service (HCS) officers, chief engineers, superintending engineers, executive engineers, tehsildars, naib tehsildars and sub-divisional engineers and municipal engineers of different departments, an official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said here today.
"The complaints against them were related to corruption, misappropriation of government funds and owning assets disproportionate to their income," he added.
Of the 281 cases, the bureau had recommended registration of criminal cases in in as many as 162, against 30 gazetted officers, 29 non-gazetted officers and 25 others, the spokesman said.
The departmental action was recommended in 53 cases against the delinquent officials. In addition, registration of criminal cases and departmental action was recommended in six inquiries, he added.
In this period, the Bureau conducted 323 raids in which 32 gazetted officers, 314 non-gazetted officers and 43 others were caught red-handed while allegedly accepting illegal gratification.

Similarly, the technical team of the Bureau carried out 226 assessments and on this basis, it recommended action against 323 officers or officials and recovered over Rs 7.21 crore from them.
A total of 97 cases were decided by various courts in which 103 officers or officials and 38 other individuals were convicted under relevent sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The highest number of conviction was from the departments of Revenue, Police and Education followed by cooperation department, the spokesman added.
