2nd edition of August Fest for startups kicks off on Aug 30

Over 1,500 start-ups are likely to participate in the second edition of "August Fest", a seed fund event which will be held at the Indian School of Business (ISB) here on August 30 and 31.
"The idea is to make it a big seed-fund fest and to have this as one-of-its-kind event as far as startups go in India. Over 1,500 start-ups are likely to participate in the Fest," Telangana Information Technology Minister K Taraka Rama Rao told reporters here today.
The minister said the Fest being hosted by ISB next month, will be a precursor to the biggest incubator called T-Hub, which the Telangana government is building in Hyderabad.
He said the state government is promoting more and more startups to be incubated from Hyderabad.
"We want to provide a platform and want to present T-Hub to the young entrepreneurs during the August Fest."
Conceived by Eat Sleep Drink (ESD) Startups, the second edition of August Fest is an event for new enterprises and creative professionals, the event is also is also conceptualised and curated by startups, ESD Co-Founder Suresh Perugu said.

"The event is all about providing an opportunity for various verticals, movies, art and tech start-ups," he said.
In addition to the creative and innovative people in start-ups eco-systems competing for funding, it is also an event to watch for as more than 100 investors, VCs and others from across India will take part and facilitate a few start-ups to get funded, Perugu said.
"The proposed startup fest will be a platform for early-stage start-ups as they will get exposure and opportunity to infuse creativity and innovative ideas from various fields. This fest will also open the path for pitching and getting instant seed-funding for the startups," TiE Hyderabad Chapter President Murali Bukkapatnam said.
