On the occasion of Doctors Day, Rajasthan government today launched the second phase of free diagnostic tests scheme under which 28 types of free tests will be made available in all 431 Community Health Centres (CHC) across the state.
The scheme was launched on World Health Day on April 1 and was covering medical college hospitals, district hospitals, sub divisional hospitals and satellite hospitals across the state under its first phase.
Medical and Health Minister A A Khan launched the scheme's second phase at Kotkhasim, Tijara and Tapukada community heath centres in Alwar district today.
Under the scheme, 57 types of tests are free in medical college hospitals and 44 district and satellite hospitals which are offering 44 other types of tests.
43 lakh free tests have been conducted from April 1 to June 24 under the scheme. CHCs, which have been covered under the second phase, will now offer 28 types of free tests.
All Primary Health Centres (PHC) and dispensaries across the state will be covered under the scheme's third phase, slated to be kicked off from August 15.
PHCs and dispensaries will offer 15 types of free tests, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said in Jaipur, adding that free medicines and test schemes of the state government have delivered encouraging results and successful implementation of these schemes was not possible without the support of doctors.
