The first round of the championship was held at Nashik in May and the overall winner was Aravind K P, Coimbatore Auto Sports Club secretary, J Prithviraj, the organisers, told reporters here today.
Top riders, including V S Naresh and Nataraj will be seen in action along with local riders like V Venu Ramesh Kumar and S Kandeesh.
As is the norm, MRF 2W Rally of Coimbatore will be run on gravel stages, he said.
"Two-wheeler rallying is making its appearance again this season, after a gap," he said.
While the first day--July 18--will see formalities like documentation, the rally will be held the next day, which will be flagged off by City Mayor P Rajkumar, he said.
Machines from TVS, Hero, Bajaj and Mahindra are expected to take part in the event, he added.
