"This is the overall picture about the deployment of women polling personnel so far during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state," state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sunil Gupta said here today.
Sources at the CEO's office said that nearly 3.8 lakh polling personnel would be deployed during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state.
Already 31 general and expenditure observers have arrived here for the first, second and third phase of elections in the state, while the remaining observers required for the entire election process in the state would arrive here in right time, Gupta said.
Static Surveillance Team has also been deployed to keep a tab on vehicular movements during the election process, he said.

Stating that in the first phase a total of 47 candidates are in fray for four parliamentary constituencies, the CEO said that so far 69 candidates have filed nominations for the second phase and 32 for the third phase in the state.
Speaking about pre-poll violence in the state, the CEO said there was no death in pre-poll violence so far, though 235 persons were injured in 244 untoward poll-related incidents.
