3 arrested for selling Bangladeshi woman to a brothel

Three people, including two Bangladeshi nationals, have been arrested, for allegedly bringing a woman from Bangladesh to Thane and forcing her into flesh trade, police said today.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Bhiwandi) Ravindra Bhosale told PTI that two Bangladeshis, Wahidul Shaikh (32) from Nurusuddi and Abdul Khayyum Khan (28) from Bemganj, brought the woman aged around 25 years, to Bhiwandi's Hanuman Tekadi under the pretext of taking care of her.
Later, they sold her to Ruksana Bibi Inayit Khan (30) who ran a brothel, and forced her into sex trade 21 days ago, the complaint lodged by the victim at the local Bhiwandi city police station stated.
Allegedly, she was also subjected to beatings and abuse by the three accused who have been charged under Section 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), Section 420 (offences relating to cheating and dishonestly), Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), Secion 506 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code as well as the PITA Act, 1956, besides provisions of the Indian Foreign Nationals Act, and Indian Passport Act.
