3 arrested, murder case of 27-year-old man solved: police

With the arrest of three persons including a woman, police today claimed to have solved the murder case of a 27-year-old man here.
Gurjant Singh was murdered allegedly with a sharp-edged weapon at Smadh Bhai village on June 29, SSP Jatinder Singh Aulakh told reporters.
Following the incident, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed led by SP(D) Rajeshwar Singh Sidhu to solve the case, he said.
Investigation revealed that Gurjant Singh was allegedly having illicit relations with his neighbour's wife Naginder Kaur.
Amandeep Singh, husband of Naginder suspected that his wife was having relations with Gurjant.
On June 29, Amandeep asked his wife Naginder to call Gurjant home. When Gurjant reached home, Amandeep shut the door of the house and then allegedly attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon which led to his death.
Amandeep, with the help of his brother-in-law Maninder disposed of the body by throwing it into a nearby pond.
The SSP said, Amandeep Singh, his wife Naginder Kaur and his brother-in-law Maninder Singh have been arrested in connection with the murder.
