The bodies of three persons, including two women, were recovered today from a car parked in front of the famous Sikh shrine of Paonta sahib in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, police said.
"It appears to be a case of suicide and all the victims are residents of Dehradun adjoining Uttarakhand state. All the deceased are members of one family," DSP Paonta Sahib Pramod Chauhan said.
The names of the deceased would be disclosed after some more verification, he added.
As soon as police received the information about bodies laying in the car in the municipal parking, it rushed to the spot and immediately opened the car to recover the bodies of a man and two women, the DSP said.
He said that the cause of death would be ascertained only after the receiving the report of forensic experts, who have already inspected the spot and examined the victims.
Chauhan said that after the car reached the parking this morning, the occupant closed allegedly the windows and stopped the fresh air from entering the car and probably opened a gas cylinder and died due to suffocation.
