: Three boys drowned in a pond in this district today, police said.
The boys, aged between 12 and 14 and students of a government school in Punjai Puliampatti, had gone to the pond in Nallur near Sathyamangalam to take bath and accidentally drowned, police said.
Some villagers standing on the bank of the pond noticed the boys drowning and informed the Sathyamangalam Fire and Rescue Services personnel and the local police.
Swimmers of the Fire and Rescue Services department rushed to spot and recovered the bodies, police said.
