3 cops accused of custodial assault sent to police lines

Three Delhi Police personnel, accused of assaulting four persons arrested in connection with a group clash in South Delhi's R K Puram police station area, have been sent to police lines and a departmental enquiry ordered against them following protest by locals.
The three policemen have been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Manoj Kumar and constables Mohit Kumar and Paramveer. They were attached to R K Puram police station.
Earlier, several locals staged a protest outside the police station here this morning over the alleged assault on the four youths and demanded action against the erring policemen.
"The three policemen have been sent to police lines pending inquiry against them. They have been accused of badly beating up four people who were arrested Sunday night after a group clash between in Ekta Vihar," said a police officer.
The four youths - identified as Pradeep, Saleem, Noni and Sajan - all are in their early 20s, were picked up by the police on Sunday night in connection of the clash.
