3 dead, 3 hospitalised after suspected food poisoning

Three persons died and three others were hospitalised in Aurangabad district today due to suspected food poisoning.
District administration officials said the deaths could be a result of food poisoning while Excise officials were probing whether the deaths had occured due to consumption of illicit liquor.
The exact reason will be ascertained only after postmortem, Aurangabad District Magistrate Navin Chandra Jha said, adding, the incident occured in Barun block and all of them were labourers.
"They all had consumed pork last night. There are no liquor shops around the place where the incident happened. Our team, including police and excise officials, is on the spot. The excise officials are probing whether the deaths are due to illicit liquor," Jha said.
The deceased identified as Kamata Yadav (34), Rajendra Yadav (45) and Rajwar (40), are residents of Subhekhap and Jangibigha villages.
Local villagers said they all fell severely ill, complained of vomitting and died in a few hours.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased and those taken ill have been brought to Aurangabad Sadar Hospital.
District Civil Surgeon Parshuram Bharti said he would pinpoint the cause of deaths only after postmortem.
