3 die of unknown fever in Kumarganj

Health department sources said altogether 70 persons were afflicted with the disease which broke out in the block in last couple of days with reports of three deaths.

Unconfirmed reports, however, put the death toll at four.

Health department officials collected 115 blood samples and sent for test to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.

Health department officials said the fever could be chikunguniya or japanese encephalitis as per the symptoms but could be confirmed only after availability of the test report.
