3 drown in Narmada river

Three youth drowned in the Narmada river today while taking bath at Nareshwar area of the district, police said.
The incident took place when some persons from a group of 56, hailing from Mehsana district, were taking bath at Nareshwar, around 60 kms from here, said Dilip B, in-charge of Vadodara district police control room.
While they were taking bath, one of the youth slipped into the deep water and seeing him drowning others rushed for his rescue, the officer said.
The youth who fell into the river and two others drowned.
The deceased have been identified as Sursing Zala (17), Gautam Prajapati (28) and Umesh Patel (19), the officer said.
Another youth identified as Gaurang Prajapati (32) has been missing and a search is underway to locate him, he said.
Three others- Hiren Patel, Akash Patel and Abhay Patel were rescued by the locals, Dilip said.
Police said that the bodies have been sent for post mortem and investigations are underway.
