3 govt employees suspended for graft

The Jammu and Kashmir government today suspended three officials on the charges of corruption in Poonch district.
Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq ordered suspension of three officials posted in the office of Block Development Officer (BDO) Poonch on the charges of corruption, an official spokesman said.
Senior Assistant, Block Poonch, Pushkar Raj, Secretary Panchayat Mangnar Block Poonch, Javed Ali and GRS Block Poonch Mohammad Azam have been suspended, he said, adding the trio shall remain attached to the office of ACD Poonch during the period of suspension.
An inquiry has also been ordered to probe the charges against the trio, the spokesman said.
"A 3-member committee comprising the BDO Loran, the BDO Buffliaz and the Deputy Director Planning & Monitoring in DC Office Poonch will look into the allegations against the erring officials and submit a report within 10 days," the Minister ordered.
Haq said appropriate action would be taken if the complaints received from the public were found correct.

He said there is no space for malpractices in the department and the government will ensure zero tolerance against the menace of corruption at all levels.
All necessary measures will be put in place to ensure complete transparency and anybody found indulging in corrupt practices shall be dealt with heavy hands, the minister said.
He said the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed to weed out corruption from the society, particularly in the government departments and a well-knit mechanism will be devised to curb it.
