Three people were arrested here on Monday for allegedly bursting a banned variety of firecrackers in violation of the Supreme Court guidelines on containing pollution, officials said.
Those held were remanded in custody by Noida City Magistrate Shailendra Mishra, according to the officials.
"Three people were arrested for disrupting law and order by bursting a banned variety of crackers. One individual each was arrested by sectors 20, 24 and Phase 2 police stations," District Magistrate Brajesh Narain Singh said.
The police, however, said no such arrests have been made by them.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Vaibhav Krishna told PTI, "A few people using firecrackers were let off after warning. No such arrests have been made."
