Police today booked a case of extortion against four persons, and arrested three of them, one of who is the aunt of the 25-year-old woman who had accused four persons of gang-raping her on a moving car yesterday.
Journalists Nagesh Chandra Sharma and Shehzad, and the woman's aunt were arrested based on a complaint by a developer who has charged them with extortion, while hunt is on for another person, police said.
Yesterday, the 25-year-old woman had filed a complaint in which she claimed she was taken by a person, whom she referred to as uncle, in a car to the place of the developer in Loni area on the pretext of providing her a job, a senior police officer said.
The woman had said that in Loni, three friends of the "uncle" got into the car, and took turns to rape her before dumping her in Govindpuram area, he said.
During initial investigation, police put the victim's mobile on surveillance found that she was never taken to Loni.
Meanwhile, investigations into the extortion case revealed the involvement of the two journalists, who have their office in Navyug market in Ghaziabad, police said.
