He came to Delhi last year and met Pappu and his associates and purchased two gold bricks from them at Rs 14 lakh.

Police laid a trap and arrested the trio.
The modus operandi of the gang is that they used to call on the mobile phones of the people and claimed to have in possession of gold bricks, which they found buried in the field or in their house.
"They would try to persuade the innocent person to buy the same on a very cheaper rate as compare to market as they are in urgent need of money. When the person would agree to buy the gold brick, they would call him at the designated place and would give him a cut piece of brick so that the targeted person can get it tested from a reliable person," the official said.
