Three persons, allegedly involved in the abduction of a man, have been arrested from southeast Delhi's Sangam Vihar area, after the victim escaped from them and filed a complaint, police said today.
Vipin alias Rangeela, Paramjeet and Anuj were arrested after police laid a trap for Vipin based on inputs that he would come to meet a co-accused namely Prince in south Delhi's Chirag Delhi area, police said.
According to police, the three accused, along with three other associates, abducted one Deepak Kumar Jha, a Sangam Vihar resident, on December 26 from a park near the Saket courts and brutally beat him with iron rods and lathis.
Thereafter, they took the victim on a bike towards Suraj Kund (Haryana) with the alleged intention to kill him.
While they were passing through Mangal Bazar Road in Sangam Vihar, the complainant raised an alarm, tactfully pulled out accused Vipin's pistol and hit him on his head, following which the accused lost balance and they all fell down on the road.
Deepak managed to escape and file a complaint with police while the accused fled the spot before passersby could catch them.

Rangeela was a key member in the gang of Raju Baba, whose murder -- the fallout of a long-standing gang war in southeast Delhi -- triggered a series of attacks, including a few more murders of rival gang associates in 2015, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Prem Nath said that Vipin has disclosed that he had a grudge with the complainant Deepak as around six months ago, a fight had taken place between the two, for which he wanted to kill him.
