At least three persons were arrested near the tehsil office at Khallikote in Odisha's Ganjam district on charge of rigging tender price during the auction of stone quarries, police said today.
Sumanta Pradhan of Khallikote, Tikina Jena and Stikanta Patra of Aska were arrested after a tussle with the police, said Inspector In-Charge, Khallikote police station Sisir Kumar Mishra.
Sharp weapons and batons were seized from the accused persons during yesterday's operation, he said.
At least three others in the same group managed to escape from the spot, Mishra said.
The bidders were assembled in the tehsil office to take on lease the stone quarries.
