3 held for thrashing youth

Three persons have been arrested here on charges of assaulting a youth who was accompanying his friend and his sister in a suspected instance of moral policing, police said today.
A case of assault was registered against the trio on the basis of a complaint filed by one Qasim Rahim.
Qasim was last evening accompanying his friend Kiran and his sister to her school in Kalladka when the locals attacked them after claiming that their "unusual behaviour" excited suspicion as to their motives.
Qasim said in his complaint the three men intercepted the autorickshaw in which they were travelling and dragged him out of the vehicle before thrashing him.

The arrested accused were later released on bail, police said.
