3 held with fake US dollars in Punjab

The Punjab police today claimed to have seized fake US dollars from the possession of three persons at a village here.
The fake currency notes were in the denomination of $100 with face value of USD 20,000, police said.
Acting on tip off, a team of police stopped a bike near Beelha village and seized fake currency from the possession of its riders, Barnala SP Swaran Singh said.
The three were going towards Sangrur and the notes were kept in two packets.
The accused have been identified as Balwinder Singh resident of Moga, Jagtar Singh and Gurdev Singh, both residents of Sangrur district, he said.
The SP said investigations were on to find out from where they got the counterfeit currency, adding that a case has been registered against them.
