three militants belonging to the Hmar People's Convention (Democrats) including the self-styled action unit chief of the outfit from Silchar in Assam's Cachar district.
An official statement issued by the police said that three - Lalropuia Famhoite (47), self-styled 'army' chief of the outfit, Norbar Sanate (46), self-styled 'Finance Secretary' and Ngurthantluanga Sanate (29) - were netted in the raid at Ramnagar in Cachar and were being brought to Aizawl.
"The arrested persons were wanted by the state police in a number of cases," the statement said, adding that the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Aizawl had issued two standing warrants of arrest against Famhoite after he jumped bail.
