Three persons, including a loco pilot, were injured when a truck collided with a passenger train at an unmanned railway crossing today in Chhattisgarh's Dhamtari district.
The mishap occurred around 8 AM at Senchua village under Kurud police station limits, when the truck, which was crossing an unmanned level-crossing, was hit by Dhamtari- Raipur passenger train enroute Raipur on the South East Central Railway section, Kurud Station House Officer M K Hota told PTI.
The train's assistant locomotive pilot, truck driver and helper were injured in the collision, Hota said.
As per preliminary investigation, the truck was heading towards Kurud after unloading goods at Senchua.
The truck driver probably failed to see the train due to low visibility from fog in the morning and as a result the vehicle collided with the train at the crossing, the SHO said.
From the impact of the collision the truck was dragged into a field adjacent to the railway track, he said.
