A case has been registered against the shop owner from whose outlet the mango drink was purchased, they said.
Three boys, all siblings aged below five, complained of vomiting and loose motions last night after consuming the fruit drink that was purchased from a shop. They were admitted to a nearby hospital, Kalapathar police station Sub-Inspector G Sravan Kumar said, based on a complaint lodged by the father of the kids.
Following the complaint, police raided the shop and its adjacent godown and seized a stock of the mango-flavoured drink. Some of the samples have been sent to FSL and Food department to verify if it was adulterated, Kumar told PTI.
The police officer also said they were investigating if there was any adulteration of the fruit drink.
