Two persons were lynched by members of rival faction in Simaria village under Cherki police station area in the wake of personal enmity, Superintendent of Police (SP), City, Akhtarul Hussain said.
One of the victim was identified as Binda Paswan, he said, adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Efforts were on to find out the body of another person, said to the brother in-law of one Bijli Paswan, Hussain said.
Meanwhile a man with criminal antecedents was shot dead by rival gang in Maroofganj locality under the Civil Lines police station area, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rakesh Kumar said.
The attackers, said to be five in number, shot at the man, identified as Arju, killing him on the spot, he said.
The assailants escaped by motorcycle after committing the murder, Kumar said.
