The accident happened on Maadi Axis Road in Giza, the third largest city in Egypt, when the lorry collided with seven other vehicles, officials said.
Ambulances have been rushed to the site of the mishap, they added.
Egypt has one of the world's highest traffic accident rates. Careless driving, bad roads are primarily blamed for the mishaps that claims thousands of lives every year.
A recent report by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics said there were 15,578 car accidents in Egypt in 2013, up 0. 4 per cent from the year before, which claimed the lives of 6,716 people and injured 22,411 others.
