3 killed, 2 injured as jeep rolls in gorge
Press Trust of India Aizawl Three persons, including two women, were killed and two other persons were injured in an accident when a maxicab they were travelling in rolled in a gorge about 150 m from the main road near Khumtung village in Mizoram's central Serchhip district today, the police said.
The police said the accident occurred when the maxicab was giving way to a truck and the soft soil could not hold the vehicle resulting in the mishap.
The bodies of K Lalhruaitluanga (32) of Sialhau village, Lalkhumi (58) of Thentlang village and Linda Lalsangzuali (25) of Kolasib town were taken to their respective villages after autopsies were performed at the Primary Health Centre in Chhingchhip.
The driver of the maxicab A Lalrinawma of Aizawl and Vanlalkrawsmawii (27) of south Mizoram's Lunglei town were admitted to the hospital where they were declared as out of danger.
