Three persons were killed and eight were injured in two separate road accidents in Seraikela-Kharswan district on Tuesday, police said.
In the first incident, a five-year-old boy was killed and five others suffered injuries when the car they were travelling in rammed a stationary truck near Bagrasai under the Rajnagar police station, Officer-in-charge of Rajnagar police station Jitendra Kumar Singh said.
The victims were on their way towards Chaibasa, West Singhbhum, from Hata in East Singhbhum when the incident took place.
The injured were rushed to a hospital in Rajnagar, where the doctors referred them to M G M Hospital in the steel city here, he said.
In another incident, two 'Kirtan' singers from West Bengal were killed and three other performers of the group sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred near the Chhotanagpur College in Rajnagar.
They were on their way to Hata, about 12 kms away in East Singhbhum district, after performing in Rajnagar when a pick up van, coming from opposite direction, collided with the autorickshaw in which the victims were travelling, he said.
