3 killed as car rams into truck in Chhattisgarh

Three persons, including a former sarpanch and his son, were killed today when their car rammed into a truck in Naya Raipur area, police said.
The mishap took place this morning near Hidayatullah National Law University in Naya Raipur, under Rakhi police station limits, when the victims were heading to their native Uparwara village after attending a wedding, a police official told PTI.
Those killed were identified as Ramnarayan Sahu (51)- former sarpanch of Uparwara, his son Laxminarayan (22) and another relative Shyamlal Sahu (48), he said.
Laxminarayan, who was driving the car, failed to notice the stationary truck near the university close to Uparwara and rammed the vehicle into it, leaving the trio dead on the spot, police said.
The bodies were handed over to relatives of the victims after the postmortem, he said.
A case has been registered in this connection, he said adding that further probe is on.
