The incident occurred when the bus was proceeding to Trichirapalli from Chennai, they said.
The bus driver tried to get past the lorry parked alongside the road, and rammed into it, resulting in the death of 3 passsengers.
The injured have been admitted to Perambalur government hospital, police said.
