Providing details of his ministry's contribution to the flood-hit Kashmir, Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Nitin Gadkari said that four lakh litres more of drinking water are being sent along with 20 units of RO water plants taken from Telangana government.
He said each of the four RO plants sent to Kashmir has the capacity to produce one lakh litres of clean drinking water to be made available to the affected people.
Addressing a press conference convened to highlight the achievements of his ministries during the first 100 days of the new government, Gadkari said a new scheme will be launched to address the problem of drinking water especially in those 17,000 habitations in the country having problems like arsenic, excessive fluoride, heavy metals and other pollutants.
